Welcome to the Center for Island Sustainability homepage. Established early on in 2009, CIS has been working hard to develop an islands-based model for sustainability. The Center for Island Sustainability (CIS) is one of the University of Guam's newest departments, which was initiated by President Robert Underwood. The department was put in place to tackle various issues in regard to Island Sustainability. The Center will become the focal Institute at the University of Guam for adapting and modeling sustainable technologies that meet the needs of island communities in the broader areas of the environment, economy, society, and education.
