Environmental Science Graduate Program Advisory Council
Composition & Purpose
The Advisory Council was formed at the initiative of local community professionals, working in cooperation with program faculty members, starting in January 2009. Its members come from local industry, education, and government, as well as from locally based federal agencies.
The Council assists the program faculty in meeting in preparing students for professional employment, teaching, or advanced studies in environmental science and related disciplines for the benefit of Guam and the West Pacific Region. Its activities include the following:

Facilitating interaction and mobilizing resources of local private businesses and government agencies to expand and improve local educational and employment opportunities for environmental science students at the University of Guam

Providing advice to the Program Faculty on the content of the curriculum to ensure that is relevant to local needs

Assisting in attracting funds and other resources to support student instruction and research

Assisting in recruiting of students and faculty to meet local and regional needs
-
Promoting the employment and retention of graduates from the Environmental Science Program to live and work in business and government on Guam and the other island communities of the region
