UOG College Night

The University of Guam presents a series of “College Nights” which are information sessions for high school seniors and their parents held at the UOG Student Center on the following dates:

March 20 - 6:00 p.m.   For JFK High School and Southern High School students
March 27 - 6:00 p.m.  For George Washington High School and Simon Sanchez  High School students
April 3 - 6:00 p.m.      For all high school students

High school seniors and their parents will learn about the admissions process, early registration, advisement, orientation, financial aid, and UOG’s academic degree programs. For more information call 735-2290.

IslaCenterfor the Arts – Isla Art-A-Thon Exhibit

The Isla Art-a-thon exhibit features 58 works of art produced by students from the Guam Public School System, Mount Carmel School, and the Academy of Our Lady of Guam beginning March 28 through April 25 . An opening reception will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 on March 28 at the Isla Center for the Arts. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mon. – Fri. and 10am – 2pm on Sat.

UOG Trip to India and Nepal in Summer 2008

This summer the philosophy program at the University of Guam will be conducting a travel course through India and Nepal. The trip runs about three weeks, from June 5th to June 28th.  Participants can take the course for academic credit (3 UOG credits—graduate or undergraduate) or for non-credit with no tuition charge.  Families are also welcome to join the group.  Participants can expect to see the Taj Mahal, numerous forts, palaces, and temples as well as unique sites from the Hindu, Buddhist, Moslem, Christian, and Jain traditions. Elephant and Jeep Safaris through National Parks, rafting through the Himalayan Mountains, catching colorful cultural shows of dance, theatre, and song, and of course visiting local shopping markets are also part of the tour.  There will be general information meetings every Thursday through the month of March at the Humanities and Social Science Building (HSS) Room 121—first floor conference room at 3:30 p.m.  Interested parties can also get information at 735-2800 or socrates@teleguam.net.   A detailed itinerary of the trip can be viewed at www.uog.edu.
