Velma Yamashitais a member of University of Guam’s Fine Arts Faculty and specializes in the areas of art history, non-western art, and gallery management.  She started as Isla Center's Program Coordinator from 1990-95 and has been serving as the Director for four years.  She is now writing her dissertation to complete her PhD. in Art History from University of Washington.
 
 
Gi Young Hwang graduated from University of Guam with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts/Art. She in an art organization AAGM (Art Association of Guam and Micronesia) and has exhibited in the 2006 AAGM Art Show, 2007 Human Rights Watch Exhibit and 2007 Isla Silent Art Auction. Her interests in arts include mostly two-dimensional artworks of Drawing, Watercolor, and Photography.
 
LiannMarie Castro is a volunteer currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts, Art at the University of Guam.  She hails from a family of artists, her father being a professional photographer.  She has grown an inclination in two-dimensional and some three-dimensional artwork.  She plans to graduate in Spring 2009 and to hold her Senior Art Exhibit immediately after graduation.

 

 
 
Julius Sotomayor Cena is a volunteer at Isla.  He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Guam with Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Anthropology, with minors in Sociology and Fine Art: Art.  He was awarded as the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year in Spring 2007.  He plans to pursue graduate school in film and come back to Guam to teach at a college level and produce films.
