Green Project Incentive
There are six $4,285 grants available to faculty and staff to support sustainability work. Projects should be completed by summer 2010. Focus areas for projects include:
· integrating sustainability into curriculum,
· energy conservation,
· public awareness,
· alternative energy,
· waste management,
· campus landscaping.
Projects not fitting these focus areas will be accepted, however, applicants are encouraged to consult with the Sustainability Coordinator before submission. Any questions regarding the grant should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply, please submit a 1-2 page proposal to email@example.com. Proposals are due Friday, October 16, with awards to be announced in mid-November. Proposals will be reviewed by the Green Steering Committee for value and congruence with Green Initiative objectives. If part or all of the money is needed for upfront costs, please attach a budget to your proposal. Faculty wishing to pursue projects during terms in which they are teaching should also obtain approval from their deans prior to submitting an application. Selected applicants will contract with the University to provide services. This program is funded through a grant from the Department of the Interior.
