The University of Guam Library, housed in the Tan Siu Lin Building, a unit of Learning Resources, is the central library facility at the University of Guam / Unibetsedat Guahan. As the largest library in the Micronesia region, the Library's collections include over 96,542 print titles and 125,007 print holdings; 940,187 microfilm/microfiche units, 2318 print serial titles; 4865 audiovisual items and software; and a wealth of subscriptions to electronic full text academic periodicals. The library’s Web-interfaced Online Catalog allows students, faculty, staff and other cardholders to access the library’s collection and electronic resources both on and off campus. Electronic Database Resources offer nearly 23,000 full-text periodicals, including peer-reviewed journals. New acquisitions and databases are selected to enhance academic quality by supporting the University’s classes, research and professional needs.
The Learning Resources building provides more than 54,000 square feet of usable book stack, reading, classroom, conference and office space. The building has two floors, including a second-floor Mezzanine.
As an academic, higher education facility, the Library maintains a quiet atmosphere, conducive to study and research. The needs of University of Guam students and faculty members take top priority at the Library. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in the building unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Adults who bring children into the building are responsible for directly supervising their conduct.
The Director, Faculty and Staff of the Library provide leadership for library education, research, consulting, library automation, networking, union listing, resource sharing; and cataloging and indexing materials about Guam and the Micronesian region. The Library shares a backup generator, enabling the facility to remain open during electrical outages.
