Dr. Donald H. Rubinstein (Ph.D., Stanford, 1979)
Professor of Anthropology and Public Health

Dr. Rubinstein has conducted long term ethnographic fieldwork on Fais Island in the western Caroline Islands of Micronesia, and in Chuuk Lagoon in the Central Caroline Islands. Research interests include social organization and socialization, adolescent suicide, medical anthropology, migration, and ethnographic arts. Current projects include a sociocultural study of pelagic fishing in Guam, and the development of a major exhibition of Micronesian arts.
