Statement of Problem or Opportunity to be Addressed
We would like to inform you that the 2010 Biennial Convention of the AAACU will be held on October 27-29, 2010 in Guam (departure from Guam on the 30th). Our host will be the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Guam. AAACU will shoulder your round trip ticket to Guam and pay your hotel bill for three nights. An official letter will be forthcoming from the University of Guam so Visa’s into the United States can be obtained.
The theme of the convention is “Re-engineering the Agricultural Education System to address Food Security, Water Issues and Climate Change”. We would like to request you to prepare a power point presentation about how your college is addressing either (1) Food Security, or (2) Water Issues, or (3) Climate Change. Twenty minutes will be set aside for each institutions report. Please let the organizing committee know which of the three (3) topics you will be presenting on. You can speak about more than one of these topics but will only be allotted 20 minutes. If there is someone at your institution that is an expert on either of these topics and you think they might be an excellent keynote speaker please send their name and email address to us.
For those institutions that are inactive, AAACU would like to encourage you to attend the meeting in Guam but AAACU will not provide any financial aid as we do for our active members. If you are interested in becoming an active member again, please contact us as soon as possible and we will provide information about becoming an active AAACU member.
