Q : What are the results of my placement tests? A : English and Math placement will be printed on your New Student Registration form, that you’ll receive during Orientation. |
Q : Am I already enrolled in English and Math classes based on my placement results? A : No. Based on seat availability and your placement, you will select from a number of English and Math class sections, offered at different days and times. After receiving academic advising at orientation, you will complete your New Student Registration form to identify which sections you wish to enroll. You will then submit this form to the Admissions Office (1st floor, Field House) to check seat availability and register into the classes. If you are placed into EN085, you will submit the form at the Department of English and Applied Linguistics (“DEAL”) at the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (“CLASS”). |
Q : I need to pay my bill on the same day I register for classes? A : No. Payment is due no later than Monday, January 31, 2005. If you have applied for financial aid, please see the Financial Aid Office (1st floor, Field House) for your award status before classes begin. Students who are waiting for financial aid or have not yet paid for their tuition and fees are still obligated to pay unless they withdraw before the first day of classes. A time-option payment plan is also available through the Collections Office (2nd floor, Field House). |
Q : Where do I make payment? A : You may pay at the Cashier’s Office (8am-4pm) in the Admin Building, or at the Collections Office (8am-5pm, 2nd floor, Field House). |
Q : Will I go through the same orientation and registration process next semester? A : No. In future semesters you will be considered a “continuing student” and will be eligible for early registration at the Records Office (1st floor, Field House), Satellite Offices on campus, and via the web. |
Q : Will I receive a report card at the end of the semester? A : No. Rather than a report card in the mail, the University of Guam is pleased to offer a web-based service called Web Advisor that will allow you to log on from any computer with Internet access to check your grades and class schedule. As a new student, your access and UOG student email address will be available shortly after the add/drop period . Go to www.uog.edu and put your cursor on the Students Tab. A drop down menu will appear; select WebAdvisor from the drop down menu. This will take you to the WebAdvisor page. Follow instructions to create your Web Advisor account. As an alternative, stop by the Records Office with a photo ID to obtain a printout of your grades or class schedule. |
Q : My medical insurance provider and/or employer want proof that I am enrolled at UOG. Will my class schedule printout do? A : Perhaps, however you will need to consult with your insurance provider or employer to determine what documents they require, such as an official form or letterhead. Enrollment certification service is available from the Records Office (1st floor, Field House). There is no charge for this service, but the processing time is five working days, so plan accordingly. |
Q : What’s the average cost for full-time enrollment per semester? A : Tuition for academic year 2008-2009 is $173 per credit hour for residents of Guam. A full-time load is 12 credits. About ninety percent of our students qualify for one or more of the many scholarships, grants, and loans available at UOG. Approximately 60% qualify for federal financial assistance. Contact the Financial Aid Office (1st floor, Field House) for assistance.
|
Q : Am I required to maintain a minimum grade point average for enrollment at UOG? A : Yes. Students are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress with a gpa of 2.00 (C average) |
Q : What does “conditionally accepted” mean? A : If your official transcripts have not been received at the Admissions Office, you are allowed to enroll this semester and are given an extension to arrange for the transcripts to be received. Make arrangements as soon as possible and follow-up with the Admissions Office to confirm that you are cleared before attempting to early-register for next semester. Failure to clear this condition will result in a denial of continued enrollment. |
