Isla Center for the Arts Hosts Student Art Exhibit

The Isla Center for the Arts is proud to announce the opening of the University of Guam Student Exhibition that will include over 80 recent works created by selected University of Guam undergraduate students.

Graduating Fine Arts/Art major Jezebel Duplito and minor Marianna Pangelinan are among the featured artists in this exhibition that includes ceramic vessels and sculptures, acrylic paintings, prints, photographs, and mixed media works.  This exhibit is one of the final steps required for the Fine Arts/Art degree.

Jezebel Duplito is an artist who is inspired by Disney and anime figures.  Primarily a three-dimensional artist, she often produces works that feature animal-inspired images.

In addition to the graduating Duplito and Pangelinan as featured artists, 21 other UOG undergraduate students are also featured in this display.  UOG Fine Arts faculty selected works of art produced by students currently enrolled in the various studio classes for inclusion in the exhibition.

The exhibit opens on May 8 and will be on exhibit through June 20, 2014.  The Isla Center for the Arts is open to the public, free of charge, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Groups are cordially invited to call the Isla Center at 735-2965 or email us at islacenter@gmail.com to schedule tours of the exhibit.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency, Office of the Governor, and the University of Guam.
