Alaska Brass to Perform at UOG

The University of Guam College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is hosting the Alaska Brass of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific.  Alaska Brass will perform a Holiday Concert at  the CLASS Lecture Hall, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.  The band will also be providing an educational Brass Master Class earlier that evening at 6:00 p.m.  Both the concert and the master class are FREE of charge.

Alaska Brass is an exciting and versatile component of the Band of the Pacific. Their unique instrumentation of five brass plus percussion makes them a highly entertaining ensemble suitable for any number of settings, including educational, ceremonial, and concert venues. They perform many styles of music, including Baroque and Classical, marches, popular, ragtime, Dixie, and jazz.

Since 1977 Alaska Brass has performed concerts and conducted clinics for civic and school audiences throughout Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, Korea, the Yukon, and British Columbia. The group has also been featured with a host of community musical organizations, and has participated in local, state, and international festival celebrations.
