Associate Professor, Marketing
Terrie O’Brien has been teaching Marketing for almost 30 years. She is currently an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Guam, has taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at UOG, Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and for Chaminade University in Hawaii. While living in Australia she taught Marketing at Monash University in Melbourne for three years, where she undertook doctoral studies in Services Marketing Management. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and her Master’s in Business Administration with a double major in Marketing and Finance from University of California, Los Angeles. After graduation she worked in advertising with Doyle, Dane, Bernbach, New York, then ran a small telecommunications company in California. After moving to Guam, 30 years ago, she began providing consulting services to local, national, and international businesses and governments in Marketing Management and Market Research for both local and international companies and continues this today. Her areas of interest and teaching include Marketing Management, Marketing Research, and e-Marketing. She has also worked on various projects for the University such as accreditation coordinator, department chair, internship coordinator, marketing club advisor, and promotional development. She has worked in retailing, banking, promotions, and sales. She enjoys traveling and has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

John J. Rivera, an INTJ, is an executive coach, consultant and professor with a decade and a half of diverse professional and academic experience.
John possesses a strong skill set that is complemented by an array of the most prominent developmental assessments in the market today. He is one of only a few hundred MBTI™ (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Certified Master Practitioners, with competency in all Levels—Steps I, II, & III. Of those certified to use the Step III instrument, he is in a class of about a hundred people worldwide. He is Guam's first and only MBTI™ Master Practitioner, Certified Step III Practitioner, EMP™ Founding Practitioner, and was among the first EQ-i certified practitioners. Other certifications include the EMP™, EQ-i®, FIRO®, JTB™, KGI®, MMTIC®, PMAI®, TIPS™ TKI®, and Strong®.
Throughout Guam and Region John has worked with a diverse mix of organizations/companies to grow strategic, organizational and leadership capacity. He is best known for his expertise with assessments, extensive organizational behavior knowledge, diverse training capacity, and transformational/charismatic leadership qualities.

Associate Professor, Global Resources Management
Fred R. Schumann, PhD, is Associate Professor of Global Resources Management in the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Guam. He has been active as a business executive in the Asia Pacific region for over 30 years. working with various multinational retail and hospitality firms. Dr. Schumann’s primary research has been in the field of international tourism and trends in consumer spending. He has extensive experience in luxury and specialty retail, with groups such as DFS Guam and The Athlete’s Foot Group, Inc. (TAF). At TAF, he was responsible for 196 retail stores in 17 countries/territories as Franchise Director for the Asia Pacific region.
