Take Care Insurance presents $100,000 check to support UOG nursing programs

 

The University of Guam (UOG) recently received a $100,000 check from Take Care Insurance to support the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The money will help the continued operation and expansion of UOG's simulated laboratories for students. The lab areas give students a chance to practice nursing and health skills with models and mannequins.

The school recently purchased a fully-simulated birthing simulator with a mother and infant mannequin. The lab also includes a fully simulated male patient and computer systems to support the lab.

Canned food and clothing drive ongoing until Jan. 23, 2015

The University of Guam School of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Student Nurses Association of Guam (SNAG) is hosting a Canned Food and Clothing Drive from now until  Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.

The drop off box is located in front of the main office inside the School of Nursing and Health Sciences building on campus. All clothing articles donated will directly benefit the homeless during the Passport to Services. Clothing sizes can vary in age range from infant to older adult.

SBPA/SNHS Mini Health Fair, 1pm to 4pm TODAY (Nov.10)!

SBPA and SNHS are hosting a Mini Health Fair in the Atrium of the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero School of Business and Public Administration on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm. 

UOG Nursing Program Establishes Fully Simulated Birthing Lab

The University of Guam School of Nursing and Health Sciences has established the first fully simulated birthing lab in Micronesia.

The Guam/Micronesia Area Health Education Center (AHEC) holds a meeting in May of AHEC Center Directors and staff from College of Micronesia-FSM, College of the Marshall Islands, and Guam Community College at the UOG School of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Guam Honor Society for Nurses Holds Induction Ceremony

The Guam Honor Society for Nurses (GHSN) recently held its first induction ceremony at the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences Lecture Hall on the University of Guam campus on Saturday, May 31, 2014. GHSN is the first honor society for nurses in Guam and was organized in February 2013 by a group of Guam’s nurse leaders and scholars, as well nursing students with strong support from the University of Guam.
