Get a library account, reserve a book, course reservations, and more

The library circulates material to current University of Guam students, staff, faculty, and administrators as well as emeritus faculty registered with the library. Circulation services are available to accounts in good standing.

If you have additional questions about services or about the library, please contact the Service Desk at 735-2311.


Library Cards / Accounts

An active library account gives enrolled students as well as university faculty, staff, and administration full library privileges:

  • borrow books and circulating library materials - more than 130,000!
  • login privileges to use the library's internet workstations
  • access to academic reserve and permanent reserve materials
  • authorization to access the library 55+ databases from off-campus
  • user interlibrary loan services

Students also may use one of the six library conference rooms for group study.

How does a student get a library account or reactivate a previous account?

To get an account or reactivate a previous account students need to come by the Service Desk at the library. Library accounts need to be activated/reactivated each semester.

Please bring:

  • your UOG student ID
  • proof of enrollment or payment of library fees for the current semester, such as your class schedule or payment receipt.

You can suggest a book for the library to purchase using our online purchase request form.

Interlibrary Loans

Need to request an article not found in our electronic journals or databases, or need to request a book not found in our collection? User the Interlibrary Loan Services to request full text articles, book chapters, or books not in our collection. Fees and other charges may apply when using this service.


Renewing a Book

You can renew your library materials online or at the circulation desk.

In order to renew your material:

  • your account must be in good standing - no fines, fees, or bills
  • your account must be up to date ( students, make sure you have updated your account for the current semester )


Please note you cannot renew the following types of materials online: reserves/periodical, academic reserves, permanent reserves, program reviews, MRF, 2 hour theses/special projects, conference rooms, any loans obtained through Interlibrary Loan Services, and AV equipment.


Library Rules & Policies

Library Fines and Fees

All unpaid fees and fine son all library accounts will be forwarded to the University of Guam's collection. Outstanding fines or fees on student accounts will result in flags on University accounts - blocking registration and release of grades and transcripts.

Main Circulating, Folio, Juvenile and East Asian Collection books 10 cents per day per item
Maximum fine is $5.00 per item
Periodicals 2 hour, Reserves 2 hour East Asian Collection periodicals 25 cents per item
Maximum fine is $5.00 per item
2 to 3 day reserves $1.00 per day per item
Maximum fine is $5.00 per item
Unbound copies of special projects and theses ( 2 hour user ) 25 cents per hour ( or any part of hour ) per item
Maximum fine is $5.00 per item
Bound copies of special projects and theses ( 2 day loan ) $1.00 per day per item
Maximum fine is $30.00 per item
Videotapes, DVDs, MCDs, CDs, equipment $1.00 per day per item
Maximum fine is $30.00 per item
Conference Rooms 25 cents per hour ( or any part of an hour )
Maximum fine is $5.00
