The University of Guam Bali Field School will be honored and celebrated with a legislative resolution by Sen. Kelly Marsh and the 35th Guam Legislature at 9 a.m. this coming Monday, March 18, in the Public Hearing Room of the Guam Legislature.
This year marks the 20th anniversary for the program, which was started in 1999 by now Professor Emerita of Anthropology Rebecca A. Stephenson and is now embedded within a semester-long course on community development.
Scores of students from Guam have ventured to Bali over the past two decades and have engaged in the learning endeavor that has produced outcomes including a number of publications, international conference presentations, films and documentaries, and workshops run in local community centers and public schools on Guam and Saipan.
The 2019 Bali Field School departs Guam this Tuesday, March 19, and it is the first all-female cohort.
