The Center for Online Learning (COLL) provides university-wide leadership and support for online, hybrid, and digitally enhanced teaching and learning at the University of Guam. The Center works with faculty, students, staff, and academic units to strengthen the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of digital learning across the University.
COLL supports faculty in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality learning experiences through instructional consultation, professional development, educational technology support, and guidance on effective online teaching practices. The Center also supports institutional compliance related to online and digital education, including digital accessibility and federal requirements, and provides training and resources to help faculty effectively use the University's Learning Management System (LMS).
Each semester, hundreds of courses use the University's LMS to deliver course content, facilitate communication and engagement, and support student learning. COLL provides LMS support and resources for students, faculty, and staff while working across the University to identify and reduce barriers to digital access and participation.
The University of Guam currently supports six course modalities: Face-to-Face (F2F), Hybrid (HYB), HyFlex (HYFX), Online Asynchronous (O-ASY), Online Synchronous (O-SYN), and Online Hybrid (O-HYB). COLL provides training, consultation, and resources to support faculty teaching across these modalities and to help students successfully navigate digitally supported learning environments.
COLL also partners with faculty, academic programs, and University leadership on the development and expansion of online and hybrid academic offerings. Support is available throughout the development process, including program planning, course design and development, faculty preparation, educational technology integration, and implementation.
The University of Guam has standardized the names and classifications for six methods of learning. This standardization will help provide clarity and ease of selection and decision-making when the next registration period comes along.
- Face to face (F2F): A class designated F2F meets on campus during scheduled class days and times.
- Hybrid (HYB): A HYB class will have both online classes and face-to-face classes. Example: A class
may be scheduled M/W at 9:30 and meet on campus on Mondays at 9:30 am and connect
asynchronously on Wednesdays on Moodle. The online classes may be a combination of
synchronous and asynchronous delivery.
- HYflex (HYFLX): A Hybrid-Flexible class is designed for students to have the option of attending
class in person (F2F) or remotely at the scheduled, synchronous course time (O-SYN).
- Online Asynchronous (O-ASY): An O-ASY class is a fully online class where students are not required to log into
Moodle at a specified time or attend any live class lectures. Weekly or bi-weekly
coursework deadlines are determined by the instructor and submitted to the Moodle
classroom.
- Online Synchronous (O-SYN): An O-SYN class requires students to attend and participate in live lectures and class
discussions through MS Teams, BigBlueButton, Zoom, or another live video conferencing
tool linked in the Moodle classroom.
- Online Hybrid (O-HYB): An O-HYB class has both asynchronous and synchronous components. Example: A class may be scheduled MW and be structured asynchronously on Mondays and meet synchronously on Wednesdays at 9:30 am through MS Teams linked in the Moodle classroom.

Moodle is the University of Guam's official online learning platform. Moodle is a learning platform designed to provide educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system.
Login into Moodle
To login to Moodle you will need your gotriton.uog.edu/triton.uog.edu Office365 credentials. If you are new to Office365 and do not know your login credentials please submit an OIT helpdesk ticket.
