The Zoom meeting will have the waiting room enabled so that we can ensure authenticated participants are in the meeting.
The host will monitor the waiting room and allow participants into the meeting.
Here is how the waiting room works: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115000332726-Waiting-Room
Once in the main Zoom meeting room, participants will see a slide presentation (looping) of the various breakout rooms and activities for the day.
The breakout rooms will be named for each participating company. So for example, XYZ corporation and the FBI will each have a named breakout room.
Participants will request via audio or chat to be moved into a breakout room.
We can support up to 50 breakout rooms and 300 active participants.
Once inside a breakout room, the employers are "co-hosts" and can share their screen, transfer files to participants, and conduct an open discussion. When participants are ready, they can leave a breakout room and return back to the main Zoom meeting room. Participants can request to be placed in any active breakout room. The monitoring host will coordinate with the employers on how to let participants into the breakout room. If an employer plans to show a 10 minute video, we will lock the breakout room so that others cannot join till after the video.
We are planning to keep the main room engaging with some activities to help promote the employers.
We will also have private breakout rooms in case an employer's representatives would like to confidentially meet with a participant.
When all is said and done, we close the breakout rooms and end the meeting.
Waiting Room - This is where everyone who enters the Zoom Job Fair session at 10:00am or whenever they join in on the Zoom Job Fair and waits until they are assigned to move to the Main Room and then eventually into Breakout Rooms with the employers.
Main Room - This is where everyone enters after coming from the Waiting Room. Mostly, the audience or job seekers, as the employers would have already entered the Main Room at 9:30am and be assigned their Breakout Room. This is also where the job seekers will return to check out the list of employers and their assigned Breakout Room. This room will also have any activities like a Raffle or announcements to be made while the audience is checking out the Activity Board.
Breakout Room - This is where each employer is assigned to be creative in what they want the audience to get out of visiting their room such as showing a powerpoint presentation, a brochure, a video or just talk to the audience for 10 minutes. This room and what goes on in this room is entirely up to the employer in reaching out to the audience for its intended purposes. This room can be locked, if the employer wishes not to have any interruptions while presenting. Employers can also request for more than one Breakout Room, if they are needing more. Employers can request to leave the Breakout Room and request to return.
Private Chat Room - This is where private interviews can be conducted between the employer and the job seeker, who may be a potential candidate for the position the employer is wishing to fulfill.
The University of Guam Career Development Office will be launching a website developed by uConnect called Triton Career Connections! For those unfamiliar with uConnect, it is an online platform that allows employers to share job postings, events, blogs, and more on their own page. Anyone interested in career opportunities, will be able to go onto the website and search for available jobs, news, and events.
TO ALL EMPLOYERS:
All employers are invited to be featured on the website, create their own employer profile with information about their organization, and manage career-related content on their own page for all to see and interact with!
How do I create my own Employer Profile?
