The Richard Flores Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC) of the University of Guam and the National Quincentennial Committee of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) have organized the Philippines-Guam Quincentennial Lecture Series as part of the program of the NHCP to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Guam's and the Philippines' first recorded contact with Westerners.
 
The series will include the following presentations:
  • Oct. 13 - "CHamoru-Filipino Relationships Over Three Centuries" by Dr. Robert Underwood
  • Oct. 27 - "Ancient Archaeology Comparisons of the Philippines and Marianas Evidence" by Dr. Mike Carson 
  • Nov. 3 - "For the Greater Good? The Use of Anthropology in the Philippines and Micronesia by the U.S. Administration" by Dr. Kelly Marsh Taitano
