Fañomnåkan 2021 and Tinalo' 2020 Intersession
November 10th, 2020
Håfa Adai, Tritons:
We are nearing the end of the Fanuchånan semester, and we are now eight months into the pandemic which has greatly affected our island community. Your health and safety and that of our faculty and staff continue to be our top priorities as we plan for the rest of the academic year.
UOG has experienced some challenges over the last few months - from a lower than expected budget from GovGuam, to continually adapting to the pandemic, to most recently, dealing with issues with our network and web services such as WebAdvisor. These challenges have necessitated that we make some adjustments for registration next semester. Below is important information regarding the Fañomnåkan 2021 semester and Tinalo’ 2020 Intersession.
All classes will be held online for Fañomnåkan 2021. UOG has received approval from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) to continue with online classes. NOTE: The UOG campus will continue to be closed to the public while the island is in PCOR1.
Our Office of Information Technology is working around the clock to ensure WebAdvisor and other student web services are fully recovered. See the Early Registration page to view the adjusted schedule.
The Fañomnåkan 2021 / Tinalo’ 2020 Intersession Course Schedule will be released before December 7, 2020.
In response to the economic strain many individuals and families are under due to the pandemic, President Thomas Krise has exercised his authority under BOR Resolution 19-41 and has made the executive decision to cancel the scheduled 5% increase in tuition for Fañomnåkan 2021. The tuition rate will remain the same as Fanuchånan 2020. Any adjustments to student fees will be announced at a later date.
Payment deadlines have been extended, and there will be no Bursar holds for registering for Fañomnåkan 2021. For more information on payments, payment plans, and deadlines, contact the Bursar’s Office at (671) 735-2945/46 or email bursar@triton.uog.edu.
The Financial Aid Office is operating at a limited capacity while awaiting restoration of UOG network services. Please monitor your UOG email for updates and important financial aid information.
For the Fañomnåkan 2021 semester and Tinalo’ 2020 Intersession, UOG will again be offering the alternative grading option. For each undergraduate course completed, students will have the option of replacing the letter grade earned with an alternative grade that will not affect GPA calculations. Forms are available from Admissions & Records, and deadlines correspond with voluntary and involuntary withdrawal deadlines. For more information, contact your school or college Dean's office.
UOG will also continue offering online tutoring with the Writing Center and Math Tutor Lab.
I assure you that we will do everything we can to continue providing you with the support and services you need to succeed.
Thank you for choosing the University of Guam. Biba Tritons! Biba UOG!
