2016 Center for Island Sustainability Conference Calls for Essay Contest Entries

1/5/2018

University of Guam

Earlier this year Ada’s Trust and Investment, Inc., teamed up with the University of Guam and the University of Guam’s Center for Island Sustainability and sponsored the 2015 UOG Student Video and Essay Contest on the subject topic:  Two Million. Too Many?

Now teamed up with two new sponsors Bank of Guam and Docomo Pacific, the 2016 UOG Student Video and Essay Contest will be on the subject topic:  China Ready. Guam Ready?

A goal of Guam's tourism industry is to secure a China visa waiver that would allow easier access for mainland Chinese travellers to come to Guam.  As a coveted market worldwide, it presents challenges, changes, and opportunities.

The purpose of the contest is to engage students to think about and share what they believe the China tourist market could have on Guam’s economy, tourism industry, environment, and society.  What changes can we expect?  What should we be aware of?

The Video and Essay Contest is open to all registered UOG students. This year the video essay contest is also open to high school seniors.
