Arctic Panda Monkeys win 3v3 Basketball Tournament

The ROTC Artic Panda Monkeys (APMs) went undefeated to win last night’s 3v3 basketball tournament. The tournament was the third event in the 4^th Annual President’s Cup.

Belizabeth Nicole Rengil, Ayn Charfauros, Yves Macalino and Philip Taijeron III of the APM beat the UOG Alumni team 12-8 in the final ten-minute game to take the championship title. The APM had defeated the Alumni in the quarterfinals, only for them to come back and face-off again in the championship round. The Alumni team’s only losses were at the hands of the APM.

Charfauros, APM’s team co-captain, said although they are all athletes, it is UOG Army ROTC program that  made them capable of winning.

“It’s ROTC physical training that makes us good,” she said.

The Artic Panda Monkeys were in high spirits as they chanted their team slogan after the game: “Brrr it’s cold in here, there must be some Artic Panda Monkeys in the atmosphere.”
