UOGThe Niigata College of Art & Design (NCAD), from Niigata, Japan is hosting a Charity Art & Craft Market on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Micronesia Mall Center Court.  The public is invited to attend and purchase limited art pieces and handcrafted goods produced by student artists from the Niigata College of Art & Design. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the University of Guam Fine Arts department. 

The event was started in 2012 to build goodwill ties with the local community by donating proceeds to local charities. NCAD visits UOG annually to participate in the award-winning English Adventure Program consisting of a campus tour, Isla Center for the Arts visit, and UOG Fine Arts Department visit. The University of Guam’s English Adventure Program (EAP) offers short-term English and culture programs to cohorts of students from schools and universities in Asia.

About Niigata College of Art & Design
The Niigata College of Art & Design was founded in 1976 and is the oldest school in the NSG group. The college has eight courses that leverage its strength as a comprehensive design school. The curriculum covers a wide area from design to manufacturing and sales. The college also offers opportunities to experience the professional world, such as internships and participation in company projects and international competitions. Students can gain real-world work experience while in college. NCAD students have made some notable achievements throughout the years—such as being entered into world-famous design contests and winning T-shirt design contest and chosen and used by the likes of Uniqlo Co. Ltd. The NCAD  campus is also a Pokemon Gym!
