The University of Guam and the University of the Ryukyus signed an agreement on August 8 that opens the opportunity for student, faculty, and staff exchanges between the two institutions. The agreement also includes the sharing of academic materials and information, joint hosting of seminars and conferences, joint research, and more.

The universities originally had an Academic Exchange Agreement back in March 10, 1988.  Since then, there has been some collaboration with student and faculty academic and research exchanges. After a three-year coordination process, both universities looked forward to renewing the relationship to include student exchange programs and other activities.
