UOG Women's Volleyball Defeats Pacific Islands University 3-0
The University of Guam Women's Volleyball Team finished 6-0 in the Guam Women's College Volleyball League on Wednesday night in
the UOG Calvo Field House by beating Pacific Islands University 3-0. The set scores
were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-12.
UOG has now won 14 straight matches in the GWCVL dating back to a 8-0 season last
season. UOG will go into the GWCVL Championship on Saturday as the #1 Seed in the
tournament and will face this same PIU team at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. The
Championship match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. PIU is the #4 seed in the
tournament with a 0-6 record.
In the first match of the night, the Royals Volleyball Club won 3-1 over the Guam
Community College team. GCC started out well, winning the first set of night, 25-21,
but then lost the next 3 sets to the Royals, 27-25, 25-20, 25-23 in a very competitive
match.
The Royals are 4-2 in the league, and GCC is 2-4. They both will face each other again
at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning as the #2 and #3 seeds, the winners of the two morning
matches will play in the Championship match at 2:00 p.m. in the UOG Calvo Field House.
