Biology Major Conducts Research at National Institution in Maryland

University of Guam junior biology major and chemistry minor Jaena Taitague spent ten
weeks this past summer at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney
Disease (NIDDK) Laboratory of Endocrinology and Receptor Biology located in Bethesda,
Maryland. Her summer research experience was part of the National Institute of Health’s
                                 Diversity Summer Research Training Program.
“I love the fact that I was able to conduct lab work in such an amazing place,” Taitague
said. “The broader level of research has helped me narrow down my interests and helped
me determine what I want to be in the future.”
