The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team ran their win streak to 22 games on Tuesday night in the UOG Calvo Field House with a 103-80 victory over a stubborn Guam Community College team in the Guam Men's College Basketball League.

The Tritons jumped out to quick 4-0 lead in the first half, but GCC then came back to take a 17-9 lead and they would hold a lead for most of the first half before UOG took the lead in the last 2 minutes of the half to lead at half-time 50-43. The GCC offense started to slow down and the UOG defense began to take a bit more control of the game at the end of the half and extended into the 2nd half. UOG scored 53 in the 2nd half as GCC could never get untracked again the last 20 minutes and only scored 37 points for the final score of 103-80, the Tritons winning.

Demadjeo Simon played his best game as a Triton so far in 2017-18, scoring 26 points with 11 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Anthony Brown scored 23 points with 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Ryan Nangauta added 21 points after a 46 point performance on Saturday against Harvest Baptist Bible College.

E. Alegre led all scorers for GCC with 35 points.

UOG is now 2-0 in the GMCBL and will play the UOG Trident Club Team on Friday, February 2 at 8:00 p.m. in the UOG Calvo Field House. GCC goes to 1-1 on the season and plays Pacific Islands University at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

In the 2nd game of the evening on Tuesday night, Harvest Baptist Bible College defeated Pacific Islands University 87-66 in a game that was close for most of the night until HBBC pulled away in the final 10 minutes. Roland Padock led HBBC with 29 points and Dinery and Jordan Darrow scored 23 each for Pacific Islands.

HBBC is now 1-1 while PIU opened their season at 0-1. PIU plays GCC at 6:15pm on Friday, February 2.
