UOG Men's Basketball Signs Justin Lila Oiz From Miami, FL To UOG Athletic Letter of Intent

The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team signed Justin Lila Oiz to a UOG Athletic Letter of Intent to play basketball at UOG for the 2018-19 season.

Justin is a 5'7" guard who averaged 12 points a game with Palm Glades Preparatory Academy as a senior with 7.6 assists, 2.8 steals, 2.3 rebounds a game. Oiz shot 54% from the field and 55% from the 3 point line. He led the team in points and assists and was named Most Valuable Player for Palm Glades his senior year.

Oiz was captain of the Eagles basketball team as a senior and Honorable Mention All-Dade County. The Palm Glade team made it to the State of Florida District Championships and Regional Semi-finals in 2016-17.

Oiz was the first Palm Glade basketball player to sign a college scholarship, as he originally signed with William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA, but he was red-shirted as a freshman on a Statesman team that went 30-5 on the season and finished in the NAIA National Tournament Semi-Finals.

Justin was twice named a Honor Roll student in high school who was MVP on his high school baseball team as well was named to the All-State of Florida High School Baseball team.

UOG went 30-0 in men's basketball in 2017-18, winning three league championships. The 2018-19 season begins in September as the Tritons will play in the Guam Basketball Challenge where they will defend their 2017 Championship at the Andersen Air Force Base Coral Reef Recreation Center.
