Two teams of students from the University of Guam competed in the 19th Annual Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition (ICFC) hosted by the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines last month.

Held at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on November 28, 20 colleges, including the University of Guam, competed in an event aiming to promote networking and to expose universities to world-class finance education standards.

UOG students have been competing in ICFC for the last five years.

The two teams competed in the finance competition based off of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam and the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam—both are professional designations in the financial industry that show expertise in the respective fields.

While UOG did not win overall, Student Investment Club President Jonathan Pablo said UOG’s scores have improved since it first competed in ICFC in 2012.
