Men's baseball tryouts to be held Dec. 14–15

The University of Guam’s newly formed Triton Men’s Baseball program will hold open tryouts on Dec. 14 and 15. The tryouts are open to current and incoming UOG students. The team will start practices this month to play in the Guam Major League next semester.

Individuals trying out must plan on being a full-time student (taking at least 12 credits) in the upcoming semester and must have a minimum GPA of 2.00. Transfer students must have a 2.00 GPA from their current institution, and first-time freshmen must have a 2.50 GPA out of high school.

Saturday, Dec. 14:

  • 8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.: Registration, Calvo Field House lobby
  • 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Orientation
  • 10 a.m. – Noon: Drills, UOG soccer field
  • Noon – 1 p.m.: Lunch
  • 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Drills and games, George Washington High School baseball field

Sunday, Dec. 15:

  • 8:30 a.m.: Registration, George Washington High School baseball field
  • 9 a.m. – Noon: Drills and games, George Washington High School baseball field
  • Noon – 1 p.m.: Lunch
  • 1 p.m.: Drills and games, George Washington High School baseball field

What to bring:

  • Baseball uniform, if possible (pants, shirt, hat, cleats)
  • Change of clothes
  • Gear (glove, bat, catcher gear if a catcher, batting helmet, other equipment needed to practice)
  • Plenty of water
  • Lunch and snacks
