50 under 40 cover

Eight young leaders among University of Guam’s employees received the honor of being listed in the “50 Under 40: Emerging Leaders in the Government of Guam” list put out by the Association of Government Accountants Guam Chapter in October.

The publication highlights 50 outstanding government of Guam employees who are under the age of 40 who have made an impact in their respective organizations. According to Vincent Duenas, AGA Guam Chapter past president and the chapter’s 50th anniversary chairperson, including the publication, the “50 Under 40” were selected because of their demonstrated skills in being outstanding leaders and because of their commitment to improving government operations. The honorees were nominated for the list by senior management, elected and appointed officials, supervisors, managers, and peers.

The UOG employees on the list include:

  • Amanda F. Blas, Administrative Supervisor, Global Learning & Engagement
  • Rachel F. Cubacub, Associate Budget and Administrative Process Officer
  • Joseph B. Gumataotao, Chief Human Resources Officer
  • Victoria-Lola Leon Guerrero, Managing Editor, UOG Press
