Takagi & Associates continues pledge to MARC research with $35K donation

3/31/2021

Takagi & Associates Inc. has made a $35,000 donation to the University of Guam Endowment Foundation as the latest installment of the company’s pledge of $150,000 to the university. The donation was made on March 24, 2021.

The gift is intended to support the Micronesian Area Research Center in various projects, including research on the history of Japanese immigration to Guam, a Japanese tourism study, and the advancement of CHamoru language studies. The funds will go to designated researchers who are working on these studies and will also provide for student research assistant stipends. Takagi has previously donated $70,000 toward these efforts.

The Richard F. Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center, formally created in 1967, contains more than 40,000 volumes of resource materials on Guam and Micronesia and is the engine of much historical and archaeological research in this region.
