The University of Guam Sea Grant program is calling for proposals to fund research in Guam, the CNMI, and the Freely Associated States for its 2022 funding period.

Researchers in post-secondary institutions, nonprofit organizations, or agencies within Micronesia are encouraged to propose research projects that are related to healthy coastal ecosystems; environmental literacy and workforce development; and aquaculture. Projects should be directly relevant to the goals of the UOG Sea Grant Strategic Plan (2018 – 2023).

An estimated $170,000 will be available to support up to four research projects over a two-year funding period. Researchers may request between $10,000 to $50,000 total in federal Sea Grant funds.

Successful proposals will have a start date of Feb. 1, 2022, and an end date of no later than Jan. 31, 2024. The research conducted must demonstrate the benefits it provides Guam.

Deadline to submit proposals:

5 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 (ChST)
