The University of Guam welcomed more than 300 new Tritons at a New Student Orientation event on July 28. The event kicked off with opening remarks from UOG Senior Vice President and Provost Anita Borja Enriquez followed by encouraging words from the deans of the six schools and colleges.

“The university is committed to providing a quality learning environment and safe environment for our students. I want to thank you and I want you to thank yourselves for making this investment in your future through a university degree with our institution,” Enriquez said.

Following the faculty introductions, students had the opportunity to meet their fellow Tritons, take a guided tour of the campus, and learn more about the university’s different schools and majors from student advisors.

“I’m excited to start my higher education journey here because Guam is my home and I heard UOG has an amazing marine biology program. I also can’t wait to meet my fellow Tritons and gain new experiences during my time here,” said Pedro Cruz, an incoming freshman from Father Dueñas Memorial School.
