The Master of Public Administration program at the University of Guam recently received accreditation from the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

NASPAA’s Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation issued the accreditation in Washington, D.C.. The network sets a global standard for public service education.

The commission's accreditation decision is based on performance of programs in carrying out their missions, consideration of substantial conformance with the NASPAA standards, and its assessment of overall program quality given the unique mission of each program, according to the commission.

John J. Rivera, Ph.D., UOG’s MPA Program director and the program’s accreditation lead, said the local graduate program is now part of an elite global community of more than 200 accredited graduate programs in public service.

The UOG Master of Public Administration program is NASPAA-accredited through Aug. 31, 2029. The MPA program also ranked 24th in Public Administration/Management in Far East Asia in the 2021 Eduniversal Ranking for Best Master’s in the World and was the first program in UOG’s history to rank in U.S. News and World Report under the category Best Public Affairs Programs.
