Arline Leon Guerrero has been appointed as the Associate Dean of Enrollment Management and Student Success and Registrar.

President Anita Borja Enriquez appointed Leon Guerrero to the position on September 24, 2023, but she has held the job in a temporary capacity since June 2022. She served as a Senior Student Academic counselor for six years and seven months prior to becoming Interim Associate Dean.  

The milestone followed her years of experience in higher education promoting student success in roles such as advisor, faculty and administrator, and as registrar.  

"I love that I can still engage with all students and advocate for student-centricity. I look forward to continuing to provide stability and continuity in the management of student academic records and information which leads to the consistency of policies and procedures while improving efficiency," Leon Guerrero said. "I am also excited to maintain an active role engaging with our advisors to develop a more robust academic advising program." 

Leon Guerrero is a UOG alum, having earned her Master of Education in 1989.

Through continued Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training and professional development, Leon Guerrero would like to continue to foster Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. President Anita Borja Enriquez continues to emphasize initiatives for the University's diverse group of students and as her administration crafts the next five-year strategic plan called Tulos Mo'na which is inspired by the ancient seafaring tradition of teamwork and paddling together in unison. 

"Our office will strive to serve as a model of DEI and to continue to be student-centric to create a welcoming, nurturing and safe environment for students, parents, faculty and visitors," according to Leon Guerrero. 

She also hopes to further establish dialogue with the diverse student groups on campus. 

"This will help us identify areas where there are gaps in understanding and to help bridge those gaps," Leon Guerrero said. "We continuously work towards improving our customer service, admissions policies, practices and advisement."
