4-H summer camps open for registration
Registration for the 4-H Summer Enrichment Camps under University of Guam Cooperative Extension & Outreach is now open, with the first set of camps beginning on June 2. The camps — 20 in total — cover a range of subjects from science, technology, and math to agriculture, nature, art, and home economics.
“There is something for everyone this summer,” said Dareon Rios, an extension agent with the 4-H Youth Development Program. “We’re also excited to be offering some new options this year, including several camps related to math, coding, and game development, and others focused on functional fitness, food dehydration, and sewing.”
Children ages 6–10 can choose from eight different half-day camps, morning or afternoon, and children ages 11–14 have a choice of 10 different half-day or full-day camps. High schoolers ages 15–18 can also partake in some summer fun at a two-week “Reef Futures” camp focused on sustainable fishing.
All of the camps will be instructed by UOG subject-matter experts who will deliver university-modeled curriculum with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning.
