Neither game was pretty on September 29, but the U17 Nationals and Fuetsa secured victories over the BallHers and Lady Tritons to advance to the championship of the Lady Triton Super League.

In the opener, Fuetsa defeated the Lady Tritons 75-58. The game turned into a 3-point contest with 5 minutes remaining. The Lady Tritons were unable to score in the final 5 minutes, and Fuetsa pulled away late.

Fuetsa led by 1 point at the end of the first quarter, 20-19, as UOG matched the usual high-scoring Fuetsa basket for basket. At halftime, Fuetsa held a 35-32 lead, with the Lady Tritons continuing to match Fuetsa shot for shot and keeping the game close.

Scoring was limited in the third period, as both sides managed only 13 points, with Fuetsa leading 48-45. In the fourth period, the Lady Tritons kept pace for the first five minutes. However, they couldn’t score in the final minutes. Fuetsa scored 28 points in the quarter to pull away from UOG to win the game 75-58.

Nicolette Perez led Fuetsa with 18 points, while her sister Elysa Perez added 15 points and Angeli Dacanay contributed 14. Maria Duenas scored 14 for the Lady Tritons; however, she faced foul trouble throughout the second half. Golopin Choay added 13, and Arriah Arceo finished with 11 points for the Lady Tritons.

Fuetsa is now 4-1 on the season, while the Lady Tritons fell to 2-3.

In the nightcap, the U17 Nationals defeated the BallHers 70-59. The BallHers had to play the last quarter and a half with only four players on the court after two injuries. They entered the game with just six available players.

Similar to the first game, offense was limited for much of the night. U17 led 22-18 after the first quarter, which proved to be the highest-scoring quarter of the game. The Nationals pushed their lead to nine points at halftime, outscoring the BallHers 18-13 in the second quarter.

BallHers lost their first player in the 2nd quarter and then lost their 2nd player halfway through the 3rd period, having to play the last 15 minutes of the game with only four players.

The Nationals outscored the BallHers 30-28 in the second half to close out the game with a 70-49 victory.

Lana Quinata led the Nationals with 25 points, while teammates Maddy Ada and Gabby Hahn scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Crystal Aguon paced the BallHers with 21 points, and Anslie Sarsalejo added 15.
