UOG Philippine Studies Lecture Series Returns with Focus on Workplace Psychology
The University of Guam College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences will host the 2025 Philippine Studies Lecture Series on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the CLASS Lecture Hall on the UOG campus in Mangilao.
The lecture, titled “Contextualizing Work and Organizational Psychology: Key Insights from Research and Organization Development Practice in the Philippines,” will explore how cultural, economic, and local factors shape workplace behaviors, employee motivation, leadership approaches, and team dynamics in Philippine organizations.
The event will provide practical insights into creating ethical and culturally responsive organizational practices that support employee well-being and align with community values.
The Philippine Studies Lecture Series has featured distinguished Filipino artists, scholars, and practitioners in meaningful dialogue with students and the Guam community. Past topics have included the role of women in national development, U.S. strategic policy in the Asia-Pacific, strengthening Philippine–Guam relations through cultural understanding, and conserving Philippine heritage and natural resources.
Hosted and supported by the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences at UOG, the series is organized by an faculty members from across the university who share a common interest in Philippine studies and connections to Filipino culture and identity.
