UOG SHRM Student Chapter receives Superior Merit Award
The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) has recognized the University of Guam SHRM Student Chapter with the Superior Merit Award for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This recognition is the highest honor granted to student chapters by the national SHRM organization. The award distinguishes UOG SHRM as one of the “best of the best” among student chapters in the nation.
"We are incredibly proud of this exemplary student organization,” said Dr. Joann Diego, Assistant Professor of Human Resources Management and UOG SHRM Student Chapter Advisor. “This prestigious national recognition from SHRM is a testament to our students’ skills in networking, teamwork, organization, leadership, and collaboration, as well as their energy and enthusiasm for the profession."
Throughout the year, the chapter hosted various activities that aimed to promote a deeper understanding of human resource management, including its signature Mock Job Fair, Breezes N Blankets, the SBPA Supernatural Fright Night, and networking events with the SHRM Guam Professional Chapter.
Since its founding in 1997, the UOG SHRM Student Chapter has built a legacy of excellence. As an active student organization for 28 years, it has been honored with a SHRM Student Chapter Merit Award almost every year — including last year — showcasing its commitment to the human resources profession and to student success.
