Lady Tritons win first match of season, Pacific Academy slips by rogues

The Lady Tritons won their first match in three seasons on Thursday, April 23, defeating NesianRooted 3–1. UOG had won a match by forfeit during the Fall 2025 season but had not won a match on the court since Fall 2024. Pacific Volleyball Academy also defeated the Rogues 3–2 in a five-set match in the nightcap.
The Lady Tritons came out strong in the opening set, taking an early lead and expanding it to a 25–13 victory. NesianRooted played better in the second set and kept it close, but UOG still won 25–23.
NesianRooted responded in the third set and took control, winning 25–19 to make the match 2–1. This was NesianRooted’s first set win of the season. UOG came back in the fourth set, took an early lead, and held it to win 25–18 and secure the match 3–1.
UOG moves to 1–3 on the season, while NesianRooted falls to 0–4.
In the second match of the night, Pacific Volleyball Academy and the Rogues showcased strong hitting from Lea Aromin of Pacific and Faith Piper of the Rogues. Pacific Academy built a big lead in the first set. The Rogues battled back to tie it late, but Pacific regained the lead and won 25–21.
The Rogues then took control of the next two sets, winning convincingly 25–14 and 25–17 to go up 2–1 in the match. However, Pacific Academy responded by winning the fourth set 25–18, forcing a fifth set to 15.
Pacific Volleyball Academy took early control of the fifth set, going up 8–3 at the side switch. The Rogues rallied and pulled within two points at 11–9. Pacific regained momentum and closed out the set 15–11 to win the match 3–2.
Pacific Volleyball Academy improves to 4–0 in the Lady Triton Volleyball League, while the Rogues fall to 2–2.
The Lady Triton Volleyball League returns on Saturday with two matches:
Saturday, April 25
- 4:45 p.m. – NesianRooted vs. Rogues
- 6:30 p.m. – Lady Tritons vs. Guam Pro
The final match of the regular season will be played on Monday, April 27:
Monday, April 27
- 6:30 p.m. – Pacific Volleyball Academy vs. VIBE
This match features two 4–0 teams and will decide the No. 1 seed for the playoffs, as well as the regular season winner.
