Triton Athletics and the Field House awarded four Gage Johnson scholarships on Saturday, prior to the Hall of Fame game between the UOG Tritons and the MicroFriends.

Each $500 scholarship was awarded to:

  • Maria Duenas – Lady Triton Basketball
  • Amanda Uncangco – Lady Triton Basketball
  • Ralph Macalpo – UOG Triton Basketball
  • Myles Serafico – UOG Triton Basketball

Gage Johnson, a former University of Guam basketball player from the 1960s, is a member of the UOG Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2021. He was the first UOG player to average 20 points in a season and the first to score 40 points in a single game.

Johnson continues to donate annually to the UOG Endowment Foundation, with funds supporting scholarships for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs through Triton Athletics.

This marks the fourth year the Gage Johnson scholarships have been awarded.
