The University of Guam signed a memorandum of understanding with Goodwind Development Corporation on June 18, creating new opportunities for students and graduates to gain career experience and connect with Guam’s business community.

The partnership expands pathways for internships, experiential learning, and workforce development while strengthening collaboration between the University and one of Guam’s leading commercial development and business organizations. The agreement supports UOG’s commitment to preparing students for successful careers by connecting academic learning with real-world industry experience.

"One of the most important parts of a university education is helping students see how their knowledge and skills translate into meaningful careers,” said Dr. Sharleen Santos Bamba, Senior Vice President and Provost at UOG. “Partnerships like this give students opportunities to gain real-world experience, explore professional pathways, and build confidence as they prepare to enter the workforce. We are pleased to work with Goodwind Development Corporation to create those opportunities for our students."

Goodwind Development Corporation is a Guam-based company engaged in commercial development, property leasing, and diversified business operations. Its portfolio includes Micronesia Mall, American Bakery, Bread Bar by Okayama Kobo, Micronesia Mall Theatres, Goodwind Travel & Tour, Beachfront Residences, and other commercial properties.

"Our business operations span a wide range of industries, and we are always looking for individuals who are eager to learn and grow,” said Dorene Kanoh, Chief Operating Officer. “Through this partnership, students will gain exposure to the day-to-day work that keeps our businesses running while developing practical skills that can serve them throughout their careers. We are excited to welcome UOG students into our organization and help them build a foundation for future success."

As part of the partnership, Goodwind Development Corporation is recruiting interns in Business Administration, Custodial Technology, and Leasing Assistance. These opportunities provide hands-on experience in business operations, facilities management, and property management.
