The Triton Men’s Basketball League resumed last week after the typhoon, with one game played on Monday, April 20. The KFC Guam Select team defeated the UOG Tritons 87-56 at the UOG Calvo Field House.
AJ Grape got Guam Select going in the first quarter, scoring 11 points in the first 10 minutes. He used his quickness to slash through the UOG defense for several layups. KFC took a 26-15 lead at the end of the first period.
The second period was more defensive. UOG held Grape to just 1 point and limited Guam Select to 20 points. However, the Tritons managed only 11 points and trailed by 20 at halftime, 46-26.
UOG came out strong in the third period and outscored Guam Select 21-18. However, they still trailed 64-47 heading into the fourth quarter. In the final 10 minutes, KFC shut down UOG’s offense and won the quarter 23-9, securing an 87-56 victory.
