In one of the most exciting matches in Triton Men’s Volleyball League history, the Phantoms captured the league championship with a dramatic 3–2 victory over the top-seeded UOG Tritons on Tuesday, October 7th, at the UOG Calvo Field House. The Andersen Bombers secured third place with a 3–1 win over Southern Sutteru.

The Phantoms opened strong, taking the first set 25–20, their easiest of the night. The Tritons responded in the second, edging out a 25–22 win to tie the match 1–1.

The third set was a fierce battle, extending past the 25-point mark before the Phantoms prevailed 31–29, taking a 2-1 lead in the match. Refusing to back down, the Tritons rallied again, winning the fourth set 25–22, evening the match at 2-2.

In the final set to 15 points, the Phantoms jumped ahead 8–5 before switching sides, then extended their lead to 10–5. Despite a late Triton push, the Phantoms held firm to close out the match 15–12 and claim the title.

The Phantoms finished the season with a 4–2 record, winning both playoff matches after a 3–0 loss to the Tritons in their last regular-season match of the league. This marks their second consecutive championship, having also won last spring under the team name Troupe.

The UOG Tritons entered the playoffs as the #1 Seed with a perfect 4–0 regular-season record, losing only one set before the finals.

In the 3rd place match, Southern Sutteru nearly had to forfeit before their sixth player arrived just in time for the start. The Bombers took advantage early, dominating the first two sets 25–11 and 25–16. Southern bounced back to win the third set 25–19, but Andersen closed out the match with a tight 26–24 victory in the fourth.

The Andersen Bombers wrapped up the season with a 3–4 record, going 2–1 in the playoffs, while Southern Sutteru completed their best season yet with a 3–3 record.
