The UOG Tritons are snakebit as they have lost two straight games by just two points, despite leading for most of both contests. Meanwhile, Guam Select U17 broke their two-game losing streak with a dominant 93-78 win over the MicroFriends, maintaining strong pressure throughout the game.

In the Guam Select U17 game, the team started strong, applying pressure early and hitting three-pointers from the outside while maintaining a solid inside game. They built a 26-17 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Guam Select outscored the MicroFriends 19-16 in the second quarter, extending their advantage to 45-33 at halftime.
 
The MicroFriends had made a comeback against the UOG Tritons on Saturday, October 11. However, they were unable to repeat that effort against the U17 team. Guam Select maintained control in the third quarter, outscoring the MicroFriends 24-19 to extend their lead to 69-52 entering the final period. The MicroFriends fought back in the last minutes. Guam Select held firm and, despite being outscored 26-24 in the fourth, closed out the game with a 93-78 win.
 
Guam Select U17 had a balanced attack with 13 players scoring. Collin Baker led the team with 15 points. Lawrence Tisaluma led the MicroFriends with 26 points.
 
Both teams now hold 1-2 records.
 
Team Kaya and the UOG Tritons both entered their matchup with 0-2 records, each seeking their first win. Both struggled to score in the first quarter, with UOG leading 12-10 after the first 10 minutes. Offense picked up in the second quarter, as both scored 20 points in the second period and UOG led 32-30 at halftime.
 
The teams played evenly in the third quarter, with UOG holding a one-point advantage at 55-52 heading into the final period. Team Kaya took control in the fourth quarter, outscoring UOG 25-20, led by Mat Soto, who scored 11 points in the final 10 minutes. Josiah Madrazo of UOG tried to match Soto and scored 9 points in the final quarter. However, Team Kaya went 7-for-9 from the foul line to secure the win, while UOG managed only 2 points from the line.
 
Mat Soto led all scorers with 32 points, including 21 in the second half. Karl Melencio added 10 points, the only other Team Kaya player in double figures. Jordan Madrazo scored 14 points, while his brother Josiah added 11 and Ralph Macaldo contributed 10.
 
Team Kaya is now 1-2 in the Triton League. UOG remains winless at 0-3.
 
The Triton Men's Basketball League has two more games on Wednesday, October 15, with:

  • 6:30 p.m. - Fairzesh vs. Team Kaya
  • 8:15 p.m. - KFC Bombers vs. MircoFriends

 
The league will pause for 12 days as UOG conducts repairs on the overhead lights and repaints the main court. Games will resume on Monday, October 27, with regular-season matchups continuing on Monday and Wednesday nights until the FIBA Basketball event temporarily closes the arena for Guam vs. Philippines on November 28.
