UOG welcomes Iwata Higashi High School for English Adventure Program

The University of Guam’s Global Learning and Engagement (GLE) office recently welcomed students from Iwata Higashi High School in Japan as part of its English Adventure Program, which offers cultural immersion and real-world English practice with UOG students and other local residents to thousands of students from Japan, Korea, and other countries throughout Asia.
The visit marks the beginning of a busy season for the GLE office, which is scheduled to host more than 700 additional international students through the end of December.
The UOG English Adventure Program features hands-on cultural activities and both formal and informal English conversation sessions staffed and coordinated by UOG students. The program is designed to strengthen language learning while fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections.
“This exchange reflects the vital role that UOG and our students play in promoting global engagement with our island,” said Carlos Taitano, GLE Director. “We’re proud to welcome students from around the world and showcase the warmth of our island and university community.”
