The award recognizes UOG SHRM for its chapter operations, programming, professional development, support of the human resource profession, and engagement with SHRM.

Throughout the academic year, UOG SHRM provided students with opportunities to develop professional skills, build connections with human resource professionals, and serve the Guam community. Activities included the chapter’s signature Mock Job Fair, Breezes N Blankets, the School of Business & Public Administration Supernatural Fright Night, and networking events with the SHRM Guam Professional Chapter.

The chapter also strengthened its community outreach through a Christmas donation drive with GHURA in December 2025 and an interview training workshop with AOLG in March 2026.

Through these activities, students gained experience in leadership, professional communication, networking, and community engagement while applying human resource management principles beyond the classroom.

Through networking, career preparation and community outreach, they are putting those skills into practice and preparing to make meaningful contributions to Guam’s workforce and the human resources profession.”

Since its founding in 1997, the UOG SHRM Student Chapter has maintained a strong record of involvement in the human resource profession. Now in its 29th year, the chapter has earned SHRM Student Chapter Merit Award recognition nearly every year, including during the previous award cycle.
