The University of Guam Men’s Basketball Team battled through when it mattered most, holding off the PK Ballers, 43-40, on Sunday night, September 27, to capture the Kustomize Basketball Tournament championship and complete a perfect 5-0 run through the eight-team tournament.
The Tritons punched their ticket to the championship game after edging Nazzu, 29-23, in the semifinals Sunday afternoon.
UOG opened pool play Friday night, September 25 with a 38-33 victory over Phileo before continuing its run Saturday, September 26 with a 53-36 win over Lagoonz and another victory over 4Stars.
The Tritons carried their momentum through the knockout rounds, completing the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record and claiming the championship.
Ralph Macaldo was named UOG’s Most Valuable Player for the tournament.
