The Guam Green Growth Conservation Corps partnered with UOG's Sea Turtle Monitoring Program to assist in hands-on conservation efforts, including nest surveys, marine debris removal, and habitat preservation. This collaboration helps protect Guam’s endangered sea turtles while training the next generation of environmental stewards.

The University of Guam Center for Island Sustainability & Sea Grant and Guam Department of Agriculture hosted CNMI Department of Fish and Wildlife representatives for a groundbreaking State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) workshop. The two-day event focused on regional collaboration to protect shared Species of Greatest Conservation Need across the Mariana Islands. Leaders from Guam and CNMI discussed unified conservation goals, biodiversity protection, and community engagement, marking a major step forward for sustainable management of island ecosystems.

Over 90 global experts will gather at the 16th University of Guam Conference on Island Sustainability from April 7-12, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Guam. Themed "Solutions for Our Future," the conference focuses on practical, interdisciplinary approaches to island sustainability through collaboration among government, academia, nonprofits, and the private sector. UOG leaders emphasize innovation, indigenous knowledge, and sustainable development to tackle challenges across the Pacific region.
