Three students enjoyed a cultural learning experience this summer through a study abroad program at Chonbuk National University.
Nursing students from Jeju National University in South Korea attended a two-week study abroad program at the UOG School of Health last month.
Six University of Guam students left on July 27 for a three-week study abroad experience to Gyeoungnam Namhae University in South Korea.

Mary Artero Calvo
Mary C. Artero Calvo is the Administrative Officer for the University of Guam’s Professional and International Programs Office. Artero Calvo has forty plus years of experience and during her time working with the University of Guam she was awarded in 1988 Meritorious Service Salary Award, Employee of the Year Award in 1992, Supervisor of Year in 1993 for the University of Guam, and in 1992 was awarded the Magnificent Seven Leader of the Year for the Government of Guam. Artero Calvo oversees the Professional and International Programs day to day operations as well as the English Language Institute (ELI). ELI promotes multicultural and multinational understanding by facilitating exemplary English language instruction and support services to speakers of other languages.
Jade L Law
Ms. Jade Law holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Recreational Sports Management, both awarded at the California State University, Northridge (CSUN). After moving back home to Guam, she started working with PIP just before Finakpo’ 2018 and has recently joined the Non-Communicable Disease Physical Activity leadership team. Law has 5 years’ event planning experience and thoroughly enjoys motivating others to pursue professional and personal development. She works closely with various Guam Department of Education divisions to coordinate trainings and workshops that benefit the teachers and schools of Guam. Law's personal passions and interests include sustainability for the island and any outdoor activities that promote a physically active lifestyle. Her favorites are boonie-stomping, diving, snorkeling, and paddleboarding.

Geena Alyanna Nuque
Geena Nuque received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts/Art Track in December 2017 at the University of Guam. Nuque works as the Program Assistant for the University of Guam’s Professional & International Programs Office. Nuque provides assistance with the filing of documents, dropping off and picking up documents from other departments, entertain walk-ins and telephone inquiries, scheduling of events, proctoring, and doing supply run.
Daniel Carleton Raglmar
Daniel Raglmar received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Guam Spring 2018. Raglmar is currently a Program Assistant for the University of Guam’s Professional &International Programs Office. His duties include assisting in the scheduling of events, support ongoing and incoming projects, ordering of supplies and materials, maintenance and inventory of equipment, and responding to customer requests.
